With sadness, we share the passing of Joseph Warren Mathews of Mobile, Alabama. Joseph, born on July 1, 1934 in Allen, Alabama, passed away on July 30, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Eula Duke Mathews and Robert Curtis Mathews; and his siblings, Evelyn Harrigan and Layton Mathews. He is survived by: his wife Marlene Dyche Mathews; his children, Terri Kearns (Hoagy) of Mobile, Karen Mathews of Mobile, Susan Mathews of Los Angeles and Joseph Braxton Mathews of Houston; his brother Charles Mathews (Judy) of Orlando; his grandsons, Benjamin Numa Kearns and Samuel Mathews Kearns; and his great grandchild Hartwell Numa Kearns of Mobile.
