He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Lee Young, Sr. and Ora Bell Young (Wright) of Daphne, Alabama.; his stepdaughter Felicia Shephard; and his great grandchildren, Kamdyn Mitchell and Ezra Shephard.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Young; his son Joseph "Lil Joe" Young, Jr. (Jasmine); his stepson Gary Shephard (Shena); his grandchildren, Tyara Westbrook, Precious Watsons, Isaiah "Bink" Featherston, Ricky "Deuce" Riley Jr., Isaiah "Zay" Riley, Lailah Shephard, Kameron Mitchell (Bridget), Keyonte Mitchell, Alana Campbell, Rory "Chris" Holmes, Jr. and Jeremiah Holmes; his siblings, Willie L. Young, Earnest Young and Dianne Lott; his niece Regina Brown; and his nephews, Jeffery Young and Elbert "Bouncy" Hammond IV.
