She was predeceased by : her parents, Giles David and Lida Alston Chapman; her husband Donald Travis McVay; and her siblings, Giles David Chapman Jr. and Joyce Chapman Fleming.

She is survived by : her children, Mike McVay (Victoria), Donna Grundhoefer (Donny) and Jody Dixon (Darrell); and her grandchildren, Giles McVay (Jessica), Travis Betbeze (Brittany), Samantha Betbeze (Mafa) and Dylan Dixon. She is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren and her nieces and nephew.

A procession was held on Thursday, April 18th 2024 at 1:30 PM at the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home (6040 Three Notch Rd, Mobile, AL 36619). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 18th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery (6100 Three Notch Rd, Mobile, AL 36609).
