He was predeceased by: his parents, Gloria Shanks and Max Shanks; and his siblings, Curtis Shanks and Marie Shanks. He is survived by: his children, Tristan Shanks and Rachel Shanks; and his siblings, Michael Shanks (Ann), Sissy Shanks and Melise Ankersen (Grady).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests any gifts be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, St. Dominic Catholic Church Chapter, Matthew's favorite charity.
