Melba Bishop Obituary
We are sad to announce that, on March 10, 2026, at the age of 94, Melba Bishop of Mobile, Alabama passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Elsie Hooks and Hattie Hooks; her husband Ernest Eugene Bishop Jr.; and her sons, Ernest Eugene Bishop III and Gregory Keith Bishop.
She is survived by: her children, Gary Nixon Bishop (Dawn), Timothy Craig Bishop (Kate), Julie Bishop Weinacker (Jimmy) and Laura Bishop Escue (Mike); and her daughter-in-law Anga Bishop. She is also survived by her many grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to Spring Hill Baptist Church, American Cancer Society, or a charity of your choice.
