She was predeceased by: her parents, Bobbie Gates and Inez Gates; and her former husband Vance McVay. She is survived by: her husband Carson Dixon; her daughter Carla Dixon Rittiner (Mark); her granddaughters, Lauren Blake, Margaret Wilkins, Cate Rittiner and Elizabeth Mangrum; and her sisters, Maxine Goosen, Ernestine Reeves (Charles) and Linda Deavers. She is also survived by four great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 1st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Radney Funeral Home (3155 Dauphin St, Mobile, AL 36606). Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 1st 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 1st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery (7759 Old Hwy 5 S, Thomasville, AL 36784).
