He is survived by: his wife Sara Wynema Pugh Sheffield; his children, Mike Sheffield (Helen), David Sheffield (Rachel) and Teresa Wade (Leon); his grandchildren, Jessie Parnell, Micah Bailey, John Sheffield, Mathew Sheffield, Laura Sheffield, Trey Wade and Walt Wade; his great grandchildren, Avery Wade and Dax Wade; and his sisters, Dollie Jean Anderson and Pallbearers (Troy Pugh).
