He was predeceased by: his parents, Axel Gustavson and Ester Hemmingson Gustavson. He is survived by: his wife Nell Rogers Gustavson of Mobile, AL; his children, Robert C. Gustavson (Lisa) of Clayton, NC and Donna Gustavson Kralik; his grandchildren, Lyndsay, Corey, Alex of Clayton, NC, Ashley Kralik Hunter (Logan) of Valrico, FL and Jonathan Kralik of Smithtown, NY; his brother Leonard Gustavson of Lindenhurst, NY; and his siblings-in-law, Robert Cobb Rogers (Lana) of Brussels Belgium, Lee Rogers Ward (Brent) of Mobile, AL and Sally Rogers O'Donnell of Dauphin Island, AL. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and three great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church.
