He was predeceased by: his parents, Marion Elbert Wood and Myrtle Lee Gates Wood (Gates); his wife Elizabeth Rose Wood (Faulk); and his brothers, Donald Raymon Wood and David "Steve" Wood.
He is survived by: his son Thomas Lance Wood of Bay Minette, Alabama; his siblings, Marion Elbert "Bert" Wood of Bay Minette, George Elliott Wood (Martha Kay) of Bay Minette, Peter Marshall Wood (Pam) of Crossroads, Alabama, Barbara Anne Wood Davis (Douglas) of Foley and Patricia E. Taylor of Bay Minette, Alabama; his grandchildren, Eric Wood of Brookwood and Eron Wood of Sevierville; and his great grandchild Jedidiah. He is also survived by numerous other relatives, church family, and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 18th 2026 at 2:30 PM at the Southside Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to "Forward in Faith" at Southside Baptist Church in Wayne's memory.
