He is survived by: his wife Martha Sanford Franks; his son Charles William Franks (Lori) of Middlebourne, WV; his grandchildren, Kellen Charles Franks and Aislinn Ruth Franks; his sister Mary Janice Franks of Montgomery; and his brother-in-law Nesbitt Sanford (Deborah) of Athens.
