Geraldine Denton Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Geraldine Denton of Monroeville, Alabama, who passed away on October 22, 2025 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Emmitt Herring and Frances Herring; and her siblings, Winford Herring and Ann Bass. She is survived by: her husband Rev. Hughie W. Denton; her children, Donna Payne (Rhett) and Randy Denton (Sally); her grandchildren, Katy Dothard (Jason), Kristy Buchanan (Sean), Chip Payne (Amy), Becker Denton and Conner Denton (Olivia); her great grandchildren, Ryan Payne Smith (Ephraim), Raylee Brunelle, Kennedy Buchanan, Juliet Payne, Payne Buchanan and Beckham Denton; her great great grandchild Ivy Jane Payne; and her siblings, Mary Deese, Margie Cleveland, Bobbie Bass, Victor Herring (Wanda) and Cindy Herring. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, October 27th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM at the Mexia Baptist Church (165 Old Salem Rd, Frisco City, AL 36445). A celebration of life was held on Monday, October 27th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to The Bethlehem Baptist Association.
