He is survived by: his significant other Lisa Rainer Pate; his children, Joe Franklin Pate Jr. (April), William Shane Pate (Terri), Amanda Lee Pate, Stephen Brett Pate and Christopher Scott Pate; and his sister Betty Pate Smith. He is also survived by five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, May 14th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Monroe Chapel Funeral Home (2252 US-84, Frisco City, AL 36445). A funeral service was held on Thursday, May 14th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
