He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Shook Smith of Montevallo, AL; his children, Cristy Ellis of Mobile, AL, Richard Dale Smith (Venus) of Seattle, WA and Chip Ellis (Christine) of Montevallo, AL; his brothers, Ronnie Smith of Peterson, AL, Ricky Smith of Abernant, AL, Steve Smith of Leeds, AL and Terry Herring of Abernant, AL; his grandchildren, Justin Lippeatt, Jacob Lippeatt, Julia Lippeatt, Troy Touchton, Christian Ellis, Chandler Ellis, Brandon Pope and Bradley Pope; and his great grandchildren, Frankie Bunkley, Beverly Ricks and Dominique Pope.
