He was predeceased by: his father O. L. "Jack" Griffin. He is survived by: his mother Joy Reavis Griffin; his significant other Teresa Simons; his son Joel G. Hunter III (Petra); his grandchildren, Ariel Rose Hunter and Jason Felix Hunter; his siblings, Diana Decker (Gary), Allen Drew Hunter (Brenda), Robert W. Griffin (Patience) and John M. Griffin (Jewel); his aunt Margaret Sue Mitchell; and his uncles, William R. Reavis (Charlotte) and David R. Reavis (Susan). He is also survived by many other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
