He was predeceased by: his parents, Harmon Riley and Sarah Ann Watkins; his daughter Andrea Watkins; his stepson Robin Robinson; and his siblings, Troy Watkins, Donald Watkins, Mae Swan, Madeline Watson, Mary Russell and Polly Watkins.
He is survived by: his wife Melissa Watkins; his children, Michael Watkins (Donna), Ronald Ray Watkins, Tracy Bergwardt, Angela Green (James) and Amanda Vice (Scott); his grandchildren, Danielle Erwin (Jimmy), Michael Watkins II, Eva Watkins, Chelliney Evans Leah (Chris), Skylar Grey, Richard Borden, Bridgett Borden, Charlie Bergwardt, Meaghan McKinny, Cameron Green, Amber "Nikki" Dulaney, Kyler Vice, Ashley Robinson and Matthew Andrews; and his sisters, Emogene Leonard and Imogene Smith. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Alabama National Cemetery (3133 Hwy 119, Montevallo, AL 35115).
