She was predeceased by: her parents, Ocie Burns and Ethel Hubbard Burns; her husband Paul James Blake; her significant other Samuel Lacey; and her siblings, Ed, Alford Simmon, Sarah Francis Lightsey and Flora James.
She is survived by: her daughter Ethel Blake Thompson; her stepchildren, Larry Buckhannon (Carolyn) of Kansas City, MO, Anthony, Randy Buckhannon of Alabaster, AL, Carolyn Heard and Adeline Blake of Griffin, GA.; her grandchildren, Kelvin Thompson (Sabrina) of Hope Mills, NC, Elvin Thompson (Valerie) of Augusta, GA. and Joyce Jones (Michael) of Pelham, AL.; her stepgrandchildren, Gloria Ford of Montevallo, AL, Charles Thompson of Columbus, GA and Bernita Houser of Charlotte, NC.; and her sister Corine Thorton of Bessemer, AL.. She is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
