He was predeceased by : his parents, William P. Ivey and Wilda Martin Ivey; his wife Sylvia Chapman Ivey; and his daughter Tanya Elizabeth Burns. He is survived by : his daughters, Tara Kennedy (Jason) and Teresa Lyons; and his grandchildren, James Kennedy, Jonathon Kennedy, Lacey Lyons and William Lyons (Samantha). He is also survived by seven great grandchildren.

A graveside service was held on Thursday, April 11th 2024 at 11:45 AM at the Alabama National Cemetery (3133 Hwy 119, Montevallo, AL 35115).
