He was predeceased by: his wife Betty Lou Smith Humphries; his parents, Charlie Eugene Humphries and Ruth Grant Humphries; his brother Bobby Grant Humphries; and his granddaughter Susan Elizabeth Humphries.

He is survived by: his brother Marion Humphries (Mickey); his children, Steven Humphries (Casilda), Cynthia Posey (Robert Stephenson), William Humphries (Rattana) and Warren Humphries (Shannon); his grandchildren, Troy Austin Posey, Michael Humphries, Amanda Peavey (Jeremy), Lauren Brown (Dakota), Daniel Humphries and Joseph Humphries; his stepdaughters, Myra Roberts and Melanie DeRamus; and his stepgrandchildren, Zachary Clifton and Anna Levon. He is also survived by five great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren.

He was a member of the American Legion at Large and also a member of the Heritage Foundation.
