He is survived by: his children, Steven Morris Yates (Beverly Landers Yates) and Melody Yates Tucker (Anthony Sha Tucker); his brothers, Herbert Yates Jr. and Tommy Yates; his grandchildren, David Yates (Abby), Adam Yates (Alex), Lance Tucker (Amber) and Brittany Bethea (Mark); and his great grandchildren, Harper Yates, Sam Yates, Camilla Yates, Jack Yates, Crawford Yates, Betty Yates, Creed Tucker, Natalie Tucker, Jude Tucker, Micah Bethea, Helen Ann Bethea and Nora Bethea.
