He was predeceased by: his parents, Sidney Baxter and Carolyn Baxter of Montgomery, AL.. He is survived by: his wife April Jones Baxter; his children, Mary Ann (Baxter) Crews (Giarred Crews), Kendrick Baxter of Easley, SC and Nathan Baxter of Auburn, AL; his siblings, Cindy (Baxter), Mewborn (Mike Mewborn) of Fayetteville, GA and Chris Baxter (Angel Baxter) of Brewton, AL; his parents-in-law, Bruce and Florence Jones of Montgomery, AL; his nieces and nephews, Jessica, Thomas (Dannie), Sarah (Macy), Jonathan (Hannah), Tyler (Shyann), Payton (Alex) and Mac; and his grandchildren, Dean and Aubrie Crews.
Flowers will be accepted, or in honor of Doug's memory, the family requests donations be made to the Alabama Sports Officials Foundation, the Montgomery Cancer Center or the LifeSouth Community Foundation where he regularly donated blood for over 25 years.
