He is survived by: his wife Martha Haygood Howard; his sons, Gordon Howard (Courtney), Andrew Howard (Meredith) and Nathan Howard (Anna Claire); his grandchildren, Louisa, Harriett, Charlsie, Brooks and Caleb; and his brother Allan Howard (Susie).
