He was predeceased by: his parents, William Weler Crooks and Ora Hall Crooks; his former wife Ruth Lotschaw Crooks; and his children, Mark Edward Crooks, Richard Douglas Crooks and Sharon Rae Crooks Reed.
He is survived by: his wife Erin Nation Crooks; his children-in-law, Christa Crooks, Robert Reed and Patricia Lusk Crooks; his stepsons, Brad Conway and Patrick Conway; his grandchildren, Jessica Crooks Francis, Jared Crooks, Jamie Crooks (Tristen Malone) and Rebecca Reed; and his great grandchildren, Caleb Francis and Khloee Crooks. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 14th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Alabama Heritage Funeral Home (10505 Atlanta Hwy, Montgomery, AL 36117). The military honors was held on Sunday, September 14th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Alabama Heritage Cemetery (10505 Atlanta Hwy, Montgomery, AL 36117).
