He is survived by: his wife Cynthia Medlen; his daughter Rebekah K. Medlen; his stepson Zachary Weitz; and his sisters, Liz Justice, Pam Sasser and Christine Medlen Peppers Duggan. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren.
