He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond T. Alford and Irene Nix Burnham; his son James Alford Jr.; and his son-in-law Buddy Murphy. He is survived by: his wife Madelyn Alford; his children, Heather Cole (Willy), Heidi Murphy and Mark Ewell (Sabrina); his grandchildren, Spencer Cole (Raven), Benjamin Cole (Shelby), Sophia Sherrell (Laken), Sean Murphy, Lily Murphy, Abby Ewell, Ari Ewell, Angel Ewell, Lexie Ewell and Ava Ewell; his great grandchildren, River Cole, Atlas Rose Cole, Valley Cole and Nova Lynn Cole; and his siblings, Joyce White (Jim), Winnie Suitt and Billie Burnham (Sheila). He is also survived by Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces and Great Nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 27th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the First Pentecostal Church (879 Washington Ferry Rd, Prattville, AL 36067). A memorial service was held on Saturday, September 27th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
