We are sad to announce that on April 8, 2024, Joann Y. Ashley of Montgomery, Alabama, born in Wetumpka, Alabama passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Joann Y. Ashley to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Lonnie Young, Sr. and Emma Traylor Young; her husband Wesley Ashley, Sr.; and her sister Fannie Young. She is survived by : her children, Ronald Sr. (Zestlan), Richard (Cindy), John Sr., Alan and Joan Ashley Russaw (Sean); and her brothers-in-law, John Henry Ashley and Samuel Ashley (Mamie). She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Viewing was held on Thursday, April 18th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 5:45 PM and on Friday, April 19th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Metropolitan United Methodist Church (3108 Rosa L Parks Ave, Montgomery, AL 36105). A celebration of life was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. Visitation was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Joann Ashley's honor to the Cleveland Avenue YMCA, Montgomery, AL or to Metropolitan United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 260224, Montgomery, AL 36135-0024.
