It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joanne Coleman Shum of Montgomery, Alabama, who passed away on August 22, 2025, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Coleman and Tommie Coleman; and her brother Chuck Coleman. She is survived by: her grandsons, Conner, Reed Gulledge, Garrett and Andrew Shum; her husband Dr. Ronald Shum; her children, Jeffrey, Elizabeth and Amanda; and her siblings, Rhonda Thomason, Dorothy Smith, Sharon Connell and David Coleman.
