He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvah Tompkins and Blondell Miller Tompkins; and his brother Al Tompkins. He is survived by: his wife Lovelace Horn Tompkins; his daughter Carrie Tompkins Blanton (Rick); and his siblings, Jimmy Tompkins and Patricia Lepianka. He is also survived by his family and friends.
