It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John William Messick of Montgomery, Alabama, who passed away on September 2, 2023, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Tom and Ella Mae Messick; his mother-in-law Viola Gardner; his sisters, Eloise Pryor, Loette Lee and Josie Terry; and his daughter Kris Elizabeth Messick.
He is survived by: his wife Genye Messick; his daughters, Kelli Messick and Melissa Steward (Scott); his grandsons, Wesley and Mason Steward; his siblings, Sue McLendon (Gus), Faye McFarland and James Messick; his brothers-in-law, Calvin Pryor, Maurice Lee and John Gardner Sr. (Debbie); and his pet JoJo. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
