He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Ed and Geneva Martin Bazzell; and his siblings, Thomas Franklin, Willie Lee Bazzell and Evie B. Caddell.

He is survived by: his wife Sandra Dickey Bazzell; his son Michael Edward (Angelia); and his sisters, Esther Hollon (C. J.) and Frances Demant. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
