She was predeceased by: her parents, William Edward Nelson, Sr. and Mary Malone Nelson; her brother William Edward Nelson, Jr.; her brothers-in-law, Charles Warner Still and Harold Douglas Bowden; and her husband Carl Owen Pilgrim.
She is survived by: her daughters, Jennifer Pilgrim Loard (Wes), Julie Pilgrim Cowden (Brett) and Mary Ruth Pilgrim; her grandchildren, John Wesley Loard III, Camilla Malone Loard, Catherine Cowden Byram (Grayson), Elizabeth Malone Cowden and Mary Louise Cowden; her sisters, Elizabeth Nelson Still and Nancy Nelson Bowden; and her siblings-in-law, Jerona Trammell Nelson, Anne Pilgrim Kracke (Bob) and Jerry Pilgrim (Sharon). She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. James Church or a charity of your choice in honor of Malone's love for faith and education.
