She was predeceased by: her parent Penniman Williams; her sisters, Marilyn Carpenter (late Jim) and Virginia Huggins (late Glen); her mother Hazel Josey Williams; and her grandparents, Penniman Marvin, Sr., Jessie Grant Williams, Joseph Howard and Gussie Worrell Jossey.

She is survived by: her sister Geraldine Bohn (Jimmy); her nieces, Sandy Cauthen (Ash), Jeni Huggins, Cara Casey (Warren), Beth Whitehurst (Brian) and Anna Ward (Brian); and her grandchildren, William Cauthen (Kitty), Ian Cauthen, Chelsea Cauthen (Chris Green), Joseph Cauthen (Clemmie), Shelby Cauthen, Corbin Cauthen, Hera Cauthen, Alex Cauthen, Oliver Cauthen, Leo Cauthen and Ryker Cauthen.

During Covid she volunteered in her hometown of Tuskegee to administer Covid vaccines.
