He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Ingram; his children, Alyson Terry (Truett) and Dylan Ingram (Sommer); his grandchildren, Scarlet Terry, Calum Terry and Quentin Terry; and his sisters-in-law, Debra Strevel and Kathan Harper (Shane). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of remembrances donations can be made to First Baptist Church Montgomery Missions in Merrill's name.
