He is survived by: his wife Mary Weathers Johnston; his children, Joann Erickson (Jim), Terri Maxwell (Robert) and Eric Johnston (Josie); his grandchildren, Kevin Pruett, Justin Pruett, Brandon Erickson, Heather Maxwell and Michell Maxwell; and his great grandchildren, Chloe Maxwell, Matthew Maxwell, Kaleb Maxwell and Elaina Pruett.
