He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Milton Owens and Pearl Owens (Deerman); his wife Barbara Owens (Maltbie); his sons, Greg (Lora), Doug (Paula) and Jeffrey Owens; and his siblings, Marie Williams, Martha Jo Williams, Van Owens, Tommy Owens, Pat Mayer and Harrison Owens. He was also cherished by family includes eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations made be made to Perry Hill Methodist Church, 910 Perry Hill Road, Montgomery, AL 36109 or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
