With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Ruth Gray Godwin (Montgomery, Alabama), born in Birmingham, Alabama, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. She was predeceased by: her husband Jim Godwin; her grandsons, Grant Singleton and Gray Godwin; and her children-in-law, Slade Singleton and Holly Godwin.
She is survived by: her children, Bill Godwin, Rob Godwin (Beth), Angie Stallings (Johnny), Tony Godwin (Beverly) and Beth Kidd (Mark); her grandchildren, Catherine Hebert (Andy), Will Godwin (Alexandra), Sarah Elizabeth Jackson (Trey), Mary Kate Godwin, Thomas Stallings (Sarah Kathryn), Wesley Stallings, Cleve Godwin (Maryl), Anna Godwin, Erin Long (Jordan), Connor Singleton and Griffin Singleton; and her sister-in-law Merle Flournoy. She is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, October 27th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Eastwood Presbyterian Church (1701 E Trinity Blvd, Montgomery, AL 36106). A memorial service was held on Monday, October 27th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
