She was predeceased by: her parents, Joe Tom Messick and Ella Mae Messick; her daughter Melanie Denise McLendon; and her siblings, James Thomas Messick, Eloise Pryor, Loette Lee, Josie Terry and John William Messick (JW).
She is survived by: her husband James A. McLendon; and her sister Faye McFarland. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital or Heritage Baptist Church, located at 1849 Perry Hill Rd., Montgomery, AL 36106.
