He was predeceased by: his parents, Merrill Barker, Sr. and Gloria Barker; his brother Merrill Barker, Jr. (Rusty); and his sister-in-law Gwen Barker. He is survived by: his wife Susan Barker (Susie); his children, Shane Barker, Shannon Barker (Emily) and Stefanie Cannon (Kito); his grandchildren, Hunter, Samantha, Isaiah, Kaleb, Noah, Chloe, Khyah and Scarlett; his sisters, Cindy Wood and Mona Edwards (Mike); and his niece Whitney Ruben.
A celebration of life was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Gassett Funeral Home Chapel (204 E Charles Ave, Wetumpka, AL 36092).
In lieu of flowers, the family ask for donations be made to UAB O'Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center, In honor of his wife Susie.
