We are sad to announce that, on April 22, 2023, at the age of 95, Virginia Macay Hardy of Montgomery, Alabama, born in Detroit, Michigan passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Macay and Sophie Schulte Macay; her husband George Emerson Hardy; and her siblings, Joseph Macay and Pat Devolder.

She is survived by: her daughters, Susan Searle (Steve), Molly Zitsch (Robert), Janet Shields (Denny) and Carol Kloess (Branch); her grandchildren, Ash Searle (Morgan), Paxton Searle, Whitley, Ford Zitsch, Georgie Zitsch Cornell (Chris), Connor, Dalton Shields, Branch Kloess Jr. (Marissa) and Lauren Kloess Razick; her great grandchildren, Emerson, Branch Kloess III, Hardy, Pace Razick and Salem Searle; and her sister Dorothy Delaney.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Virginia's memory may be made to Montgomery Humane Shelter; and MACOA/ Meals on Wheels.
