He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Roy Patten and Irene Thomas Patten; his brothers, Thomas Patten, Harold Patten and Jack Patten; his parents-in-law, A. J. Price and Stella Price; and his siblings-in-law, Ada Jane Lindsey Werneke, Christine Patten and Billy Price.
He is survived by: his wife Gloria Jean Price Patten of Montgomery, Alabama; his daughters, Sharon Hataway (David) of Ramer and Sheila Nichols (Vaughn) of Gulf Breeze, Florida; his grandchildren, Jennifer Blount (Ron) of Ocean Springs and Ruben Vaughn Nichols III (Allie) of Birmingham, Alabama; and his siblings-in-law, Joyce Price of Hackneyville, Alabama and A. J. Price Jr. of Alexander City, Alabama. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
