She was predeceased by: her parents, Tommy Montgomery and Myrtie Dutton Montgomery; her husband Kennard DeVaney; her son Johnny Yates; and her siblings, Marie Montgomery, Carlos Montgomery, Wallace Montgomery and Ollis Montgomery.
She is survived by: her daughters, Shelia Moats and Rachel Rutherford; and her siblings, Judy Strickland and Lamon Montgomery. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
