He was predeceased by: his parents, JT Hughes and Valdia Hughes; his siblings, Jay Hughes, Wanda Hughes and Helen Crow; and his granddaughters, Paige Fielder, Samantha Huey, Malissa Webb and Wendy Webb.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth Hughes; his pet Youngen; his children, Robert Hughes, Donald Hughes, Tonya Belk (Glenn), Darlene Hughes (Renee) and Joe Ann Whitehead (James); and his sisters, Kathy Riddle and Jackie Carter. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
