He was predeceased by: his parents, Abern Melson and Kathleen Keenum Melson; his son Gary Wayne Melson; and his siblings, Billy Melson, Harold Melson, Berry Melson, Barbara Keenum, Lygitta Osborne and Linda Sue Melson.
He is survived by: his daughters, Tammie Wallace (Blue), Michelle Smith (Shane), Sissy Melson and Rita Armstrong (Matt); and his sister Brenda Randolph. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, August 26th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Parkway Funeral Home (23599 AL-24, Trinity, AL 35673). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, August 26th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
