He was predeceased by: his parents, Burrell Jackson (Aulsie Palmer Ellis) and Buddy; his wife Nadine Evans Ellis; his daughter Rhonda Dunlap; and his sister Robbie Boyett.
He is survived by: his children, Jeff Ellis (Bert), Tammy Kaye Owens (Jerry) and Patricia Butler; and his grandchildren, James Lynn Dunlap, Lucas Allen Dunlap, Brianna Collett (Jonathan), Hillary Kaye Owens and Sarah Owens. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
