She was predeceased by: her parents, Dyke Smith and Ada Oden Smith; her husband Norris Herring; her daughter Glenda Slayton; her granddaughter Brandy Phillips; and her siblings, Willard Smith, Huey Smith, Eva Smith, Mable Jackson and Eula Osborn.
She is survived by: her son Edward Herring (Helen); her grandchildren, Misty Stricklin (Brian), Jessica Herring, Hazel Herring and Brooks Slayton (Laura); her great grandchildren, Britley Orr, Julieanna Taylor and Griffin Slayton; and her brother Windell England (Malisia). She is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
