He was predeceased by: his parents, Avis LouAllen Melson and Auburn Football; his daughters, Crystal Melson and Angela Melson; his brothers, Richard "Ricky" Melson and Gene Melson; and his brother-in-law Leo Schultz.
He is survived by: his siblings, Mary Shultz, Henry Melson (Sherry), Darrin Melson (Donna) and Glenn Melson (April); and his nieces and nephews, Misty Melson, Shannon Shultz (Heather), Brandon Melson (Susan), Brian Shultz (Alicia), Lashawn Webster (Jesse) and Nicole Melson Vess.
