She was predeceased by: her parents, Kelsie Atkinson and Flonetta Lucas Atkinson; her siblings, James Atkinson, Mary Rivers and Edith Logan; and the father of her children Alvin Orman Pearman.
She is survived by: her sons, Barry Pearman (Dorothy) of Mount Olive and Brian Pearman (Lisa) of Argo; her grandchildren, Barry Pearman Jr. (Caitlyn), Brooke Nation (Colby), Stanley Pearman (Amanda), Jessica Ball (Mike), Taylor Pearman (Ethyn) and Abbie Pearman (Luke); and her friend Kenneth "Kenny" Brewer. She is also survived by 11 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and a great host of extended family.
She began her operating room experience at the Callahan Eye Foundation Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama, where she was a skilled surgical technician.
