He was predeceased by: his parents, William Clyde McCarty and Mary Alice McCarty; and his siblings, Mary Catherine McCarty, Patsy Hand, Donald McCarty, Ralph McCarty, Kenneth McCarty, Steven McCarty and Mark McCarty.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy McCarty; his granddaughters, Tanya Robinson (Chris) and Denise Dates (Bran); and his sibling's children, Vincent Robinson, Cooper Neil Robinson, Miranda Dates and Katelyn Dates.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Union Hill Baptist Church (7049 Taylors Ferry Rd, Bessemer, AL 35023). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 at the Shanghi Cemetery (7716 Quinton Rd, Quinton, AL 35130).
