He was predeceased by: his wife Vicki Darling; his parents, Charles Darling and Mildred Darling; and his sister Ann Ware. He is survived by: his children, Jessica Reed (Thomas), Adam Darling and Michelle Darling; his siblings, Don Darling (Jackie), Michael Darling, Diane King, Jimmy Ray Darling and Lisa Box (Danny); and his stepgrandchildren, Carly, Kristen, Colby, Abigail and Lucas.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Colbert County Animal Shelter, St. Jude Children's Hospital, or Washington Park Baptist Church.
