He was predeceased by: his father J. W. Moore; his sons, Brian and Gene Moore Jr.; his siblings, Wayne Moore, Thomas Hairrell, Eugene Cole, Larry Cole and Faye Davis; and his grandson Brandon Keith Pendergrass.

He is survived by: his wife Rose Marie Moore; his mother Bessie Hairrell; his children, Mary Pendergrass, Sabrina Chaney and Johnny Riddle (Jessica); his siblings, Bill Moore (Debbie), Nancy Hester (Van), Judy Holland (Donald) and Debbie Evans (Kenneth); his grandchildren, Bradley Pendergrass and Brittany Lindley (Chris); and his close friends, Theresa Scruggs and Slick Dickerson. He is also survived by other grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren.
