He was predeceased by: his parents, James "Shorty" Richards and Mabel Richards; his brothers-in-law, Howard and Methel Wimberly; his sons, Ronnie, Mike and Timmy Richards; his grandson Jamie Mace; and his siblings, Bobby, Jacky, Johnny Richards and Cathy Richards.

He is survived by: his wife Maggie Sue Richards; his daughters, Susan Conyers (John) and Brooke Wallace; his brother Butch Richards (Lee Ann); his grandchildren, Joi Anderson (Dave), Jason Vinson and Analiese Wallace; his great grandchildren, Madison (Blayne), Lauren, Austin, Trey, Chase, Jacie, Alex, Ace, Levi and Skyla; his great great grandchildren, Kayden, Zaelyn and Carson; his sister-in-law Sarah Pearson; and also, Susan, John, Dave, Joi, Donna and Brooke. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
